AFRICAN AND ASIAN INFLUENCES
he Spanish colonists brought in African slaves to work mines and plantations. These people in turn brought their languages, religions, and arts with them. Spanish trade, based in Manila, moved materials from mainland China to the west coast of Mexico. Many Latin American folk art forms bear the imprint of these African and Asian influences.
